Background: When he was a child, Pheonix was accused of stealing another kid's lunch money. This wasn't the case, as he had been at the nurse's office and not in class, but, the general concensus was that Pheonix was guilty. Only two fellow students stood up for him, Larry Butz (who, incedently admitted to being the real perpatrator many years later), and Miles Edgeworth, who was the victim! Miles believed that without evidence no one could really find Pheonix guilty, and was able to convince the class and the teacher during the mock trial. The three became friends, but, shortly after, Miles was transfered to another school, and Phenoix didn't see him again. That is, until many years later. The experiance at school made Pheonix want to stand up for those falsely incriminated as well. Fresh out of law school, Pheonix joined the Fey and Co. law firm, learning a good deal from the chief, Mia Fey. However, shortly after his first case, Mia Fey was murdered, and Pheonix was called on to defend her sister, Maya, a spiritual medium. That's when he was reunited with Edgeworth. Miles, who once talked of becoming a defense attorney like his father, was now a Prosecutor. However, after Maya was cleared, Miles was reminded somewhat of his former dream, and helped Pheonix. Then there was the awful event of Edgeworth's accusation of murder. Pheonix acted as his attorney, and not only cleared Miles's name, but also solved the mystery of Miles's father's death. After reluctantly returning to the prosecutor's offices, Miles took one last case against Pheonix, and helped him again. After that, Edgeworth left, leaving only a cryptic note, leading Pheonix to believe him dead.

About a year and a half later, Maya was accused of murder again. Pheonix knew he was the only one who could prove her innocence, and did, much to the dismay of Franciezca von Karma, the prosecutor who took over for Edgeworth. Pheonix proved time and again his client's innocence, and when all seemed lost, Pheonix recieved help again, from Edgeworth! While Pheonix had thought him dead, he had actually been in Europe. Together they solved a very confusing case, and saved an innocent person.

Personality: Pheonix is generally "average", whatever that means, living in a city where grown men are fans of a Power Ranger's knock off, and big boobed women wear pajama's everywhere. Pheonix often thinks to himself, which usually helps in court and such, and is good at deducing things. While he can get surprised often, (ie- a new witness not mentioned before), he tends to keep his cool well. Pheonix has a more mature sense of humor, and doesn't usually laugh at Maya's jokes...or clowns for that matter. Most fans, (myself included) believe he is a closet fan of the Steel Samurai, as he's got a poster of it in his office, and his cellphone ringtone is the show's themesong. (Though, he tends to blame Maya for that). Pheonix is a very nice guy, and maybe a little too trustworthy, he tends to trust his clients without fail, and while he's usually right, they do tend to hide things from him.
